August Bank Holiday Monday this year is on 26th August, and- as you would expect- throws up a collection of delicious local derbies; although, of course, not every match is a derby, no amount of creative mathematics would make that feasible!

Amongst the highlights in the Premier Division are Carshalton Athletic v Leatherhead, East Thurrock United v Bowers & Pitsea, Enfield Town v Potters Bar Town, Lewes v Horsham, Wingate & Finchley v Haringey Borough and Worthing v Bognor Regis Town.

Moving on to the North Division, Bury Town- who will be amongst the favourites to contest those top five places- host Cambridge City, Grays Athletic host Basildon United, Hullbridge Sports face Canvey Island and Romford bring Aveley to Brentwood, which is where they will be groundsharing this season.

In the South Central, the clash between Harlow Town and Waltham Abbey seems an early highlight, as does the visit of FC Romania to Ware. Ashford Town will entertain Westfield, and Chipstead will take on the talent-creating conveyor belt which is Tooting & Mitcham United, who seem to be producing professional footballers the way that our politicians produce hot air.

The South East Division sees Sussex derbies between Burgess Hill Town and Chichester City, East Grinstead Town and Hastings United, Whitehawk and Haywards Heath Town. Whitstable Town and Herne Bay will be battling to win seaside bragging rights, whilst Phoenix Sports v VCD Athletic is always feisty.

This year we will have Non-League Day on October 12th. England will be away in the Czech Republic and Bulgaria, the Premier League and the Championship will have the weekend off, and you need to all persuade your professional football watching mates that they are better off watching the BetVictor Isthmian League anyway! If you can bring them along they might just decide to abandon the upper-echelons for Non-League on a permanent basis, just like all right-minded people.

The fixtures on Non-League Day are as follows:

Bognor Regis Town v. Potters Bar Town
