Margate make the deal to sign Paxman

Margate Football Club have unveiled the signing of Jack Paxman from Deal Town.

Jack is an attacking right-back with an all action style and dangerous throw-in and in my view was the top prospect in all of the Southern Counties League last Season.

Paxman’s trial performance in a friendly with Gillingham impressed Margate’s Management duo who were quick to snap up the former Dover Athletic Academy, Ramsgate and Deal Town player.

Joint Manager, Mike Sandmann believes the local youngster could make a huge impact at Hartsdown Park and looks forward to working with him again.

“Browny and I are delighted to add Jack to the squad. He fits the mould of player we want to develop and I’ve seen his potential since working with him at Dover; he’s hungry to learn and keen to improve his game.”

“Jack’s an exciting player in attacking areas and his defensive responsibilities are in more than capable hands learning from Steve Brown.”

Sandmann added,

“I would like to thank Derek and Steve at Deal Town for making this process a smooth one and wanting to see a young player go on and progress which is really refreshing.”

Commenting on the departure Deal Town CoachSteve King said “As much as we are disappointed to lose a player of Jack’s quality it is a well deserved move for him. He has been a pleasure to work with and has been outstanding during his two seasons with us. The chance to step-up two divisions is an exciting one for him and we wish him all the best. As he knows he will always be welcome back at the Charles Ground.”
