Margate Sports sign impressive Trio ahead of new season

Ahead of the new Season Margate Sports have made a trio of signings to strengthen their side that compete in the Kent County Division One C+E Division.

Aaron Quain, Sam Hallet and Ian Pulman have joined in what is clearly a sign of intent by the newly re-branded club.

Aaron Quain joins the club having spent time at Whitstable, Ramsgate and Margate and is available for the opening fixture against Guru Nanak.
Chairman Karim Aisawi commented:
“Signing Aaron is nothing short of a huge signing for the club, and I believe further demonstrates our ambition we have at the club.
Aaron will give us real balance as an attacking entity, adds bags of experience, and a cutting edge to the side. Similarly to Ian Pulman, Quainy is someone who has attracted attention for other clubs at a higher level, so we worked hard to get the deal over the line, and now delighted to be able to announce him”.

Ian Pulman has played a host of clubs including Canterbury City, Herne Bay , Whitstable, Ramsgate and Margate, and has a proven track record of being one of the most prolific strikers in the area.
Chairman Karim Aisawi had this to say:
“I’m really pleased to have signed Ian for the club, he is a fantastic striker who has scored goals every where he has been. He brings a quality, and sheer ruthlessness that we have been lacking over the last few seasons. Signing someone of his calibre is huge for the club, as he, of course has had offers elsewhere, but he has bought into what we want to achieve and build here at Margate Sports. We’ve been really busy this pre season looking at our recruitment processes, aiming to bringing in the right mix of local youth and experience, and believe we have found that balance with the squad we’ve put together now”.

They have also made the signing of former Herne Bay striker Sam Hallett.
Chairman Karim Aisawi said;
“Hallett is an exciting striker full of goals, having proved this during his spell at Herne Bay. We worked hard to get Sam in very early as we quickly identified him as someone we needed, he is young, hard working and a natural goal scorer,
I’m really pleased to welcome Sam to the club, I think he is going to be giving some of the defenders in this league a hard time from day one”

EDIT: MARGATE SPORTS MAKE ANOTHER SIGNING!
Since writing the original article Margate made another signing and it is a familiar face in Ryan Philpott!

Ryan is well know to the club having scored 7 goal in 3 appearances in a short stay with the club.

Chairman Karim Aisawi stated;
“It’s no secret how highly I rate Ryan so I’m thrilled to get him through the door. I’d like to thank Lydd manager Liam Smith for facilitating the move, he looks after his players well, and it’s a compliment that he’s chosen Margate Sports to look after one of his own. Ryan will add further attaching impetuous to the side, he’s fast, powerful, full of tricks and lethal in front of goal, so we’re looking forward to having him back here for a little longer than last time”.

After a rather up and down pre-season, that concluded Saturday with a comprehensive win against Burgess Hodgson, Sports travel to Guru Nanak for our season opener this Saturday in Gravesend.

Margate Sports, formerly Deal Sports, recently announced that they have signed an agreement with Margate Football Club to make Hartsdown Park their new home and have re-branded to become Margate Sports.

This announcement not only signals a new home, it signals a new relationship between two clubs that will enable Margate Sports (formerly Deal Sports) to develop a more professional footballing set up and continue with the aspiration of becoming a Kent League Team.

Margate Sports in agreement with Margate Football Club and Margate Youth FC will provide a path way to adult football and hopefully bridge the gap between youth football and Margate first team, as will and fill the void and provide a platform for local players in the area.

Chairman Karim Aisawi stated “to go into a ground such as Hartsdown, and work with a club like Margate F.C is very exciting; I believe this will give us the platform to build upon and set the club up for it’s long term future. To this end, I would like to thank all of those involved in this process including the Margate Football Club Board for approving our tenancy.
Working with Margate Youth FC and the local Footballers in the Thanet area is going to strengthen our club as there is most certainly opportunity in the market here for players that are of county level.

“We aim to give those players the stage upon which they can perform. To help ensure we have the best possible links to young local players and the people of Thanet.
We will be creating a new Club Board and have invited two committee members from Margate Youth Football Club to become committee members of Margate Sports FC. New managers and coaches will join the club also to drive the club forward on the pitch.”

Margate Youth FC Chairman Leon Friend said ‘this gives our players two possible pathways to develop there football after the youth system finishes at U18 level. As a youth system for Margate FC our aim is to deliver players capable of playing to their potential and at the highest level. That can know be Margate FC first team through the U23 route or/and through Margate Sports FC pathway.

Karim Said ‘I really can’t wait for the season to get going now and ask for locals to come and get involved, if you’re a player we want to hear from you, if you wish to volunteer or be a part of this new venture, get in touch!”

Margate FC General Manager Deny Wilson said “I am very pleased that Margate Sports will be playing here next season as it gives more opportunity to young people to play football at Hartsdown Park. This move also means there will be a football game nearly every Saturday and those supporters who cannot travel to away games can come and watch a match at their local stadium.”

For more information on how to join Margate Sports drop them a message on Facebook or Twitter or contact Chairmans Karim Aisawi. Their Social Media accounts will migrate to the new club name over the next few days.

Best of luck to Margate Sports for this Season and the future!
