Phoenix Academy spreads the Christmas cheer

On Monday the Phoenix Academy squad went down to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich to hand out presents and bring a little cheer to some of the children currently not too well and in need of having their day brightening up. That’s exactly what happened as the lads walked the wards, giving out gifts and spending time with those in need of having their spirits raised. As you can see from the photographs everyone enjoyed the morning and putting a smile on the young children’s faces will have boosted everyone involved.

Academy Manager Jack Parkinson and his team who play in conjuction with Erith School have been having a fabulous season on the pitch. Recently they made a great run in the FA Youth Cup, beating VCD Athletic and Dartford before narrowly losing out to Whitehawk in the Third Qualifying Round. The academy is a full-time education programme where the students will train each day from 3.15pm-4.45pm. Matches are played every Wednesday afternoon in the National under 19 league, Kent academies Premiership or Championship divisions. Games are played at Erith Stadium.

Well Done lads and best of luck for the season and for your careers.
