Sutherland stays with Bromley FC

Bromley Football Club have confirmed that midfielder Frankie Sutherland has signed a new contract with the Club.

The former QPR man joined Bromley just a day before the start of the Vanarama National League last year, following a successful trial period.

Sutherland began his career as a youth player at QPR, before being promoted to the first team in 2012. During his time with the Hoops, he enjoyed loan spells at Portsmouth, Leyton Orient, AFC Wimbledon, Dagenham & Redbridge, and Crawley Town.

Following his departure from the Club, he signed for Woking in the National League, before moving on to Brighton-based Whitehawk, where he made 12 appearances, scoring 3 times.

After joining Bromley back in August 2017, Sutherland enjoyed a successful season with the Ravens, but is hoping to go one better this time around; “I’m delighted to put pen to paper after last season. I really enjoyed the atmosphere we had in the team, the togetherness and team spirit for a bunch of lads who had only just come together was fantastic. The Club has really good people throughout, and after what was a disappointing end to the season, I am now even hungrier to achieve what we came so close to last year.”

Manager Neil Smith added; “Frankie got better and better throughout last season, and he had a great partnership with Frankie Raymond. Again, he’s the type of player who can help us move on and progress next season. Frankie and all the boys who have stayed on from last season have set a standard for the new players to match, and securing his services again is a big boost for us.”

Frankie joins the following players in committing to the Ravens for next season:

David Gregory
Jack Holland
Jordan Higgs
Bobby-Joe Taylor
Adam Mekki
Kyle De Silva
George Porter
Dan Johnson
Jake Goodman
Frankie Raymond
Tobi Adebayo-Rowling
Alan Dunne
Marc-Anthony Okoye
Roger Johnson
Omar Bugiel
Neil Smith remains in talks with a number of last season’s squad and potential further signings. Of course, the official website will bring you any further news as soon as we have it.
