Borden Village announce Management departure
Borden Village have announced the departure oftheir Management Team of Glenn Conlon and Rob Welling.
“With regret I announce my decision to step down as manager of Borden Village, where I have spent a good two years,” Conlon stated via Twitter.
“All good things have to come to an end and unfortunately this has.
“I’ve always said I can’t stand in the way of players wanting to play higher and unfortunately the time has come where players are looking for progression and that’s life.
“Firstly, I’d like to thank the club for the opportunity of managing in the Kent County League at a young age, the support from the board was second to none and I loved every minute of it.
“Secondly, I’d like to thank the boys that played their hearts out for me. We were very inconsistent but there is some unbelievable talent of what is a young squad.
“Who knows what the future holds in these times as football is on the back of everyone’s mind.
“One thing I do know is I’ll be back in the dug-out with my assistant Rob Welling making decisions again. It might not be now, might not be soon but one day.
“I’ll always be a fan of Borden and the club and will be back to watch the lads whenever I can.”
A club statement from the Kent County League Premier Division club, added: “The club would like to thank Glenn Conlon and Rob Welling for the last two years.
“They have been a pleasure to work with and we as a club wish them well for the future. Our search for a new manager now begins.”
Borden Village were placed in eleventh-place in the Kent County League Premier Division table at the time of the abandonment of the 2019-20 football season due to the covid-19 outbreak and The FA declaring the campaign null and void.
