All Change at Welling United

Welling United have today announced that due to a remanaging of the budget aswell as a poor run of recent results a few changes for both the playing and coaching staff has occured. The biggest news being with Assistant Manager Hugo Langton moving on. Jamie Coyle has also brought in Harley Willard and Anthony Acheampong. Added to that Ian Gayle has moved on from the club and Christian Nanetti and Sean Francis have been put up for loan or dual registration.
Acheampong is a centre-half from Dulwich Hamlet who is known to Wings fans from a spell at Park View Road 5 years ago has also played for Barnet, Maidstone and Ebbsfleet. His signing will give player-manager Coyle the opportunity to spend more time coaching and managing the team rather than playing so often but he has said that he will still be available as back-up.
Coyle attempted to sign Harley Willard at the start of the season but he moved to Maidstone United. Fortunately he has claimed the signature of the left-sided attacking player this time around and the 20 year old former Southampton youth player will go straight in to the squad for the game at home to Eastbourne on Saturday.
But for sure the biggest news will be that Hugo Langton has had to leave. He was a popular man around the club but with Coyle able to spend more time in the dugout now it makes sense to save finances in this area. Hugo issued this statement via his twitter.

Welling increased their spend when they were at the top end of the table a few months ago in a bid to assist their promotion bid but now after a bad run of results and promotion looking less likely the club have had to revert to their original budget plan and make these changes.
In an extra effort to improve the situation they will also be adding an extra night of training to the schedule.
Hopefully these changes will end the eight game run without a win and bring some positivity back to Park View Road.
