Concord Rangers deducted 3 points

Promotion-chasing National League South side Concord Rangers have been deducted three points.

The National League have penalised the club for fielding an ineligible player during their 4-0 win over Hampton and Richmond on December 4 in National League South.

As a result of the deduction, Sammy Moore’s side have now dropped out of the play-off positions.

A statement from the National League read: “The National League Board has deducted three points from Concord Rangers for fielding an ineligible player in a National League South match earlier this season.

“The Club admitted the charge and was found guilty of a breach of Rule 6.9 for a player participating in the fixture against Hampton and Richmond Borough after the expiration of a Short Term Loan registration.

“It was determined that any points gained from the match were to be deducted from the Club’s record.

“The National League South table has been amended accordingly.”

The Concord Rangers Chairman Antony Smith said;

“Unfortunately we were missing our club secretary through illness and we all failed to recognise the loan period had expired for Nana

We move on to Saturday with a huge game v Dartford!”
