Development work continues at Margate

Margate chairman Terry Painter has said that the club’s plans for development work at Hartsdown Park are continuing.

Painter has provided an update on the situation behind the scenes for the Isthmian Premier Division side. His statement on the Margate website reads;

Hello everyone,

We hope you and your families are all keeping well in these strange times.

By way of an update and to let you know, Margate Football Club is still operating, despite the lockdown and our key employees being furloughed. We did a lot of work in the early days of lockdown in order to follow the guidelines, the club also sought what help and support it could from the government.

I would like to personally thank our Management Team, Board, Ricky, our Vice Chairman, for all their good work in dealing with the situation.

Obviously, there is not a great deal to tell you at this time but there has been some positive planning going on behind the scenes. Having recently spoken with Jay, he and his family are all well. He has had some good discussions with key players for the next season, despite the uncertainties.

Like the rest of the country we are awaiting advice on the next step forward and until the government and the league let us know their plans, we can then move forward with our plans.

The Club is still progressing with the ground development and improvements and is due to submit our revised proposals for the Coffin End and the hotel development in the next few weeks. Reports on archaeology, transport planning and drainage have all been completed for submission with the application and we hope to share the proposals with you shortly.
