Former England Boss in Daggers Hotseat

Despite the financial constraints that the Club will have to work under next season, Dagenham & Redbridge Football Club have announced that the Club’s new managerial team, will be Peter Taylor and Terry Harris, who have joined the Club in the full knowledge of the situation.

Peter Taylor

Peter’s illustrious career in the game spans nearly 50 years and counting. In 1976 he earned his first cap for England, being the last third division player to play for England whilst at Crystal Palace. Peter went on to play first division football with Tottenham Hotspur for four years.

He ended his playing career as a player-manager at Dartford spending four years, there with Terry Harris, and then they spent one year together at Enfield. After two years as Assistant Manager at Watford he left to manage his first football league club, Southend United, in 1993.

In 2000 Peter was at the helm of Premier League Club, Leicester City and during this period he became England’s caretaker manager for one game against Italy, where he famously named David Beckham as captain.

Peter enjoyed his longest spell with one club at Hull City from 2002 and led them to back to back promotions from the Football League Two and One in the 03/04 and 04/05 seasons reaching the heights of the Championship before leaving Hull in June 2006.

The experienced manager has seen five promotions with four different clubs including the likes of Brighton & Hove Albion, Gillingham and Wycombe Wanderers.

Terry Harris

Former Dagenham & Redbridge Assistant Manager Terry Harris returns to The Daggers from Boreham Wood Football Club having enjoyed a very successful season, reaching the play-off final.

This will be Terry’s fourth spell with us. He is an experienced and popular individual who has relished success as a coach and as an assistant manager.

Terry was part of The Daggers team that earned promotion from the Ryman League into League One. Harris also helped Luton Town back into the Football League.
