Former Gills man makes Fleet move

Ebbsfleet United have signed former Gillingham keeper Tom Hadler.

He made his one and only league appearance for the Gills at the end of the 2017/18 season when the club were managed by Fleet director of football Steve Lovell.

Hadler progressed through the academy at Priestfield but was released last summer and moved to Eastbourne Borough.

He becomes the third signing of the summer for Fleet and is the second keeper to have agreed terms.

The newly signed goalie made 22 appearance for Borough last season but ended the season with a knee injury which kept him sidelined.

Hadler said: “It’s a really nice thing to want to be somewhere this aspirational and that’s the biggest draw here.

“The ambition that I’ve heard from those behind the scenes about the recruitment of players lends itself to what will be a very competitive team and I can’t wait now to get started.”

Ebbsfleet have also had it confirmed today that they will be playing National League South football next season. The FA has confirmed the plan to go ahead with the play-offs therefore relegating Fleet by average points of just 0.02.
