Friend arrives at Ramsgate

Ramsgate Football Club have confirmed the signing of Liam Friend from Margate Football Club.

The 31-year old centre-back made 560 appearances at Folkestone Invicta and 97 appearances at Margate FC, captaining both sides in his career.

Friend, who stands at 6’4”, achieved promotion on two occassions to the Premier Division with former side Folkestone.

Now, the defender is on a mission to achieve that same feat with Ramsgate this season.

“I’m delighted to sign for Ramsgate, and I’m looking forward to getting started with pre-season in a couple of weeks,” Liam Friend said.

“As a group, I think it’s important not to put too much pressure on ourselves to finish in a certain position,”

“But, a club like Ramsgate needs to be aiming for promotion, and the buzz around the club can help us achieve that.”
