Steve Watt leaves Maidstone ahead of Wheeler arrival

Steve Watt this morning confirmed that he has left Maidstone United ahead of the arrival of a new Manager

Watt had been in charge since Jay Saunders’ departure two weeks ago, losing all three of his games 1-0.

He announced on Twitter this morning his time at the Gallagher Stadium is up.

Watt said: “I would like to take this opportunity to say thanks to all the fans for their unbelievable support over the last few weeks, through a very difficult period.

“It’s with regret that my time with the club has come to an end again.

“It was always a wish of mine since leaving to return at some point to be part of the club again and I can’t thank Jay enough for bringing me back. I wish you all nothing but success, you fans deserve it.”

Maidstone are expected to announce Harry Wheeler as their new Manager at lunchtime today
