Margate keeping to Youth policy

Margate Football Club have announced the signing of Chris Barnard.

The promising young footballer joins Hartsdown Park on a dual registration from National League side, Dover Athletic.

The midfielder has played twice for The Whites and following some impressive displays for The Gate during pre-season, reunites with Joint Manager Mike Sandmann, who previously coached Barnard at Dover FC’s Academy.

Sandmann expressed his delight with the latest addition to the Margate squad.

“I’m really looking forward to working with Chris again. He’s another young player who has shown great promise which has merited a deal with a club like Dover.”

“I think we can offer him a really exciting opportunity to gain experience, improve upon his game and he has every chance to become an influential part of the squad.”
