Mekki to face spell on the sidelines

Bromley winger Adam Mekki has suffered a dislocated ankle and broken fibula.

The 27-year-old former Aldershot and Tranmere Rovers player was stretchered off in Bromley’s 1-0 home defeat to Eastleigh in the Vanarama National League on Saturday.

Mekki, who was named Man of the Match in last year’s FA Trophy final loss to Brackley Town at Wembley, confirmed the severity of his injury on Twitter last night. He said:

Devastated to find out I’ve dislocated my ankle and broken my fibula. Thankyou for all the messages of support. Surgery was a success so the road to recovery starts now.

Mekki signed a new one-year deal with Bromley last summer. Neil Smith’s side currently sit 12th in the table, ten points off the play-off places.
