New Assistant Manager for Peckham Town

Nick Menebhi, will be moving up from the Reserves to become the Peckham Town’s First Team Assistant Manager, supporting Manager, Mary Phillip.

Nick told Peckham Town’s Instragram channel that this was a ‘fantastic opportunity’ and hoped that the first XI could start the season with a trophy when they eventually get to play the final of the London Trophy Final. While the 2019/20 season only allowed for the Menace to play 10 games, the Town got off to a shaky start in the league, but Nick thinks that they will come back stronger. ‘This year we need to keep the momentum going’ which he hopes will begin with winning the London Trophy cup in the coming weeks.

Other changes at Peckham come with Tom Bland and Sam Strong taking control of the Reserve team for the 2020/21 season, which will compete in the Surrey South Eastern Combination League. Sam, a former Town player himself, knows exactly what it takes to be successful at the Menace.

When interviewed, Tom and Sam said “We’re excited to be re-establishing the reserve team and joining a great community club like Peckham Town. As well as integrating within the club, we’re looking to compete for trophies and ultimately be successful. We want to take this time to thank Bryan for the opportunity and helping to put this team together.”

In other news, the Kent County League confirmed yesterday that the new league season will start on 5 September.

Teams will play friendlies throughout August to prepare for this.
