New Identity and New Management For South East Athletic
Kent County League side South East Athletic have revealed a new Identity aswell as a new Management team, ahead of the 2020/21 season.
The Division One side have announced that Ashley Stone and Aaron McCall have joined the club to take on joint responsibility as First Team Managers.
Both Ashley and Aaron were integral in the rapid rise of Rochester City as they progressed up the Kent County leagues. Last season Ashley and Aaron managed Snodland Town FC in the SCEFL First Division, before the season was cut-short following the coronavirus outbreak.
A club statement reads:
“The SEA Committee were particularly impressed by their experience and knowledge of the KCFL, as well as their understanding of the higher echelons of the grassroots scene in the South-East following their stint at Snodland Town. They have also held committee positions in the past, demonstrating their understanding of what it takes to run a successful football club at this level.
Ashley and Aaron bring a fresh, dynamic but experienced set of hands to the Club, who will be looking to retain and bring in talented footballers and good club members to help improve the on-field results of the 1st team.
The Committee are excited to usher in a new era for the First team and hope to see a competitive team once again that can challenge in Division One West.
We hope this appointment demonstrates the intent of the football club and its desire to improve its on-field success as well as pushing the club forwards off the pitch. The Club would like to welcome Ashley and Aaron into the fold and we share their excitement for the future of this great club.”
South East Athletic have also unveiled a new Club Crest, as part of a new identity for the Club.
Explaining the process their statement reads:
A few months ago we were informed that using our old badge would no longer be possible in the long-term. We took the decision as a Committee, at that moment, to put together a new Club badge that we could call our own and would better represent the Club.
We went to social media to ask for designs to be submitted. We were overwhelmed by the fantastic response we received from club members as well as the general public as we were inundated with some fantastic designs. Some of the entries had really captured our imagination and the explanations provided on why elements had been included were really thought-provoking.
In the end we turned to our own club member, Owen Rice, who is part of the Committee and has been helping with producing some fantastic graphics for our social media. He along with the help of Andrew Cooper and also Neil Ferguson of Blur 7 Design put together the finishing touches of our new badge.
We are very proud of the outcome and now have a club crest we can call our own. We’d like to thank everyone who submitted designs, they were all amazing and gave us so much inspiration for own design. Congratulations to Owen, who will see his design as the corner piece of the club for years to come.
We will now begin to slowly phase out the use of our old badge, starting with social media and internal documents. Eventually we will look to replace all previously branded content with the badge, however this may take some time and will involve a cost too. A project plan will be put in place to deal with this.
We are extremely excited about our future as a club and we are pleased that we’ll be stepping into a new era with a new identity. We hope you like it too.
