Lovell replaces Quinton at Park View Road

Welling United have announced that, following Tuesday evening’s defeat to St. Albans City, Brad Quinton and his management team have been relieved of their duties and that Steve Lovell will be coming in as the new boss.

Whilst having made nearly 500 football league appearances for Crystal Palace; Millwall and Gillingham Steve is most recently known within Kent for his successful management of Gillingham managing them for 2 seasons whilst in League 1, including a memorable 3rd Round FA Cup Victory over then Premier League Cardiff City.

Joining Steve as Assistant Manager and First Team Coach will be Tristan Lewis who will need no introduction to Welling fans having originally set up our new academy. Tristan has most recently been First Team Coach at Ebbsfleet United where after being appointed alongside Kevin Watson as Manager with the Club looking like relegation certainties they almost oversaw the “Great Escape” and arguably would have done had the 2019-20 season not been cut short due to the Global Pandemic

Craig Lewis will also rejoin the club to assist with fitness and conditioning.

The Wings lay at the foot of the table after a run of one win in 11 games in what has been a stop-start season.

The Club have placed on record their thanks to Brad Quinton & his management team for all their efforts during their time at the Club during unprecedented circumstances.

The Club have also announced that Director of Football Garry Fiore will step down from his role.

Garry will remain as Academy Director alongside Brett Smith and Barry Jeffreys.

Next-up for The Wings is the visit of Tonbridge Angels to Park View Road on Saturday.
