Blackman calls time on Ramsgate job
Ramsgate will soon have a new Manager after the resignation of Lloyd Blackman. The side, in 13th place in the Bostik South East Division, released this statement on their website.
It is with regret that following two defeats to Sevenoaks Town and Three Bridges, our manager Lloyd Blackman tendered his resignation with immediate effect.
Blackman cited a mixture of private reasons as well as the work being done to restructure the club for his resignation.
He was asked to reconsider, but his decision was final and the club have reluctantly accepted his resignation.
Lloyd became manager in January 2017, after serving as coach to Jim and Danny Ward.
He immediately instilled a new spirit into the team, despite the threat of relegation, and led the club to a tremendous run which resulted in a top half finish.
Blacky will be remembered for his outstanding work with young players, presenting many opportunities for the youth in his team
This season he presided over our best FA Cup run for many years, notable for the fanatastic win in the rain at Gosport before eventually losing to Hemel Hempstead.
Lloyd’s work within the club has been much appreciated by the Ram’s supporters who liked his friendly and courteous manner.
All at the club would like to place on the record our thanks to Lloyd for his efforts and wish him well for the future.
With any change comes opportunity. The club will now advertise for a new manager to build on Lloyd’s hard work and help take us forward.
Expectation is for Nick Davis to take over as Manager in time for the home match against Ashford United on Saturday.
