Wasps buzzing over new signings

East Grinstead have showed their intent this season by making a serious of headline signings.

The latest names through the door are that of Danny Waldren and Louie Theophanus following on from the arrival of Jay Gasson and Peter Wedgeworth last week!

Both of the latest recruits turned out for Romford last season, Louie after moving from Kingstonian in early January and Danny towards the end of the campaign when he left Welling United to reunite with former Billericay Town manager/owner Glenn Tamplin. He scored the winner in what was to be Romford’s final match of last season, the one-nil victory over promotion-chasing Tilbury.

Louie’s move to Romford came as something as a shock as he’d just left Kingstonian, for whom he’d walloped eighteen goals during the first half of the season, for family reasons. He managed four more in his ten matches for Boro.

Danny previously played, as mentioned, for Billericay, a mainstay of the side which won the Premier Division in 2018. He also played for Dulwich Hamlet, and won National League South promotion with Bromley.

Louie had two spells with the K’s, was also part of that Billericay title-winning squad, won the National League South golden boot with Staines Town, and also turned out for Farnborough, Chelmsford City, Bromley and Woking.
