Whitehawk Make First Team Squad Changes

Over the last week, Hawks boss Jude Macdonald has made a number of changes to the first team.

Re-signing last week on Thursday (25th October) was Forward Connor Tighe. Connor initially signed for the Hawks last season under Jimmy Dack, but after a loan spell with Bognor Regis Town and then Burgess Hill Town, he signed for the Hillians permanently up until his departure in early October. Tighe is also a former Brighton and Hove Albion trainee and made his second debut for the Hawks in our FA Trophy tie against Harlow Town.

Joining on Tuesday (31st October) were Defender Regan Mendes and Forward Tigana Quebe. Mendes signed on dual-registration from Welling United and is a former Brentford and QPR youth trainee. In his career, he has featured for Southall, Arlesey Town, Stotfold, Walton & Hersham, Bruno’s Magpies (Gibraltar) and FC Unirea Dej (Romania). Quebe has also signed from Welling United and has previously featured for Braga (U19), AD Ninense, Operario and AD Estacao in Portugal. Both Regan and Tigana were born in Guinea-Bissau and made their Hawks debuts in our Sussex Senior Cup tie against Eastbourne Town.

Signing this weekend were Defender Tommy Cooney and Forward Nat Pinney. Tommy is a former Brentford trainee and has gone onto feature for Scarborough Athletic, Boston United, Morecambe, Margate and then a spell in Australia with Preston Lions. After returning to England last Summer, he signed for Leatherhead before joining the Hawks. Tommy made his Hawks debut in our Bostik Premier League match at Tonbridge Angels.

Forward Nat Pinney has re-signed for the Hawks from Welling United, following signing for them in the Summer. Former Crystal Palace trainee Nat signed for the Hawks for the first time in December 2017 following a brief spell with St Albans City. Before then he spent 3 years with Eastbourne Borough in the Conference South, scoring 57 goals in 138 appearances which followed spells with Carshalton Athletic, Tonbridge Angels and Kingstonian. Nat made his second Hawks debut in our Bostik Premier League match at Tonbridge Angels.

Leaving the Hawks are Forward Ky Marsh-Brown and Defender Ronayne Marsh-Brown. Ky signed for the Hawks in September 2017 and has joined National League South side Welling United on loan, linking up with the manager that signed him for the Hawks, Steve King. Ronayne signed for the Hawks last Summer, joining brothers Ky and Kwai at The TerraPura Ground. He made 11 appearances for us and has left to move up a league to the National League South to join East Thurrock United.
