He will be missed, but everyone at Whitstable wishes him well for the future.

Joining as a new player-coach for the 2021-22 season is Ben Harding, who has plenty of experience from his career in professional football. He has played for a number of clubs including Wimbledon/MK Dons, Aldershot Town, Wycombe Wanderers, Northampton Town, Torquay United and Gosport Borough. He signed for Truro City in 2017 and was appointed their interim manager a year later. Ben has since been doing academy coaching and recently moved to Kent.

Manager Lloyd Blackman said:
“I’m very pleased to announce the signing of Ben Harding as our new player-coach. Hards and I have been speaking for the last six weeks and I’m delighted to have him on board.

“He adds valuable experience to the young group on the pitch as well as being an outstanding young coach whom the players have been impressed with and taken really well to.

“He’s had a great career within the professional game and will be an excellent addition to our playing squad.
