Lewes bring in former Glebe Boss

Craig Nelson has been appointed new manager of Pitching In Isthmian League Premier side Lewes.

Nelson was in charge of Glebe last season, leading the side to 3rd in SCEFL Premier Division.

The former Tooting & Mitcham United midfielder will be joined at the club by Danny Oakins (Assistant Manager), Bryan Nzinga (Coach), Frankie Sawyer (Coach), Arron Fray (Strength & Conditioning Coach) and Sheikh Ceesay (Goalkeeper Coach).

Lewes finished 8th last season. Manager Tony Russell announced his departure a week before the campaign’s conclusion.

Speaking of Nelson’s appointment, Lewes director John Peel told the official club website:

“He’s a manager who fits perfectly with our ethos of playing high intensity, possession based football.

“Craig and his backroom staff are forward thinking people who excel at creating positive squad environments and outstanding high performance culture. We are excited to have Craig to join us as we prepare for next season”.
