Beckenham Town Part Company With Manager Danny Waldren
Beckenham Town have parted ways with manager Danny Waldren by mutual consent after just 10 games in charge at Eden Park Avenue.
The decision comes in the wake of Tuesday night’s heavy 4-0 defeat away at local rivals AFC Whyteleafe, which left the club sitting 20th in the Isthmian League South East Division table. The Becks remain winless in the league, having collected just three draws and three defeats from their opening six fixtures.
A short statement from the club read:
“Danny Waldren has left his position as manager of Beckenham Town by mutual consent. We thank Danny for all his hard work and wish him the very best for the future. We will provide a further update regarding the manager position as soon as possible.”
Waldren, 35, was taking on his first managerial role. Reflecting on his departure, he posted on X:
“I would like to thank you all for the opportunity given to be manager. But it has been mutually agreed that it’s best for me to step down as manager. I wish everyone at the club the very best of luck moving forward.”
Beckenham’s only wins under Waldren came in cup competitions, with away victories over Hassocks in the FA Cup and Northwood in the FA Trophy.
The club currently sit in the relegation zone alongside Jersey Bulls, Deal Town and East Grinstead Town.
