Coombes among three to join the Wings
Mark Goldberg has added a further three players to the squad for the upcoming 2019/20 season.
First in is Richard Platt, a young defender, who has been on the books at the likes of Gloucester City & Hednesford Town. Platt spent last season at Chesham United and Bedworth Town. Richard is no stranger to Park View Road having been an unused sub for Chesham in their 2-1 FA Cup defeat last year.
Reece Prestedge has also joined the Wings. Midfield-man Prestedge is another of the title-winning Bromley side of 2015 and has a wealth of Vanarama National South experience after featuring for the likes for Chelmsford, Bishop’s Stortford and Maidstone in the National League.
Finally, and maybe most importantly, Mark Goldberg has swooped to secure the signature of one of non-league’s sharpest strikers, Adam Coombes. Coombes is already a firm favourite at Park View Road and now embarks on his fourth spell at the club. Adam originally signed for Welling in 2016 and was in deadly form scoring over 30 goals, including a double hat-trick against Swindon Supermarine, before a move to Sutton.
Coombes later linked back up with Goldberg at PVR at the back end of the 17/18 season before big-spending Billericay Town came in for the striker in the summer. Another loan spell, and more goals, at Welling followed last season before Adam returned to the Essex side to finish the campaign.
