Maidstone strengthen ahead of National South return
George Elokobi has added to his forward line with the signing of striker Levi Amantchi from Brackley Town.
Levi signed for Chesterfield as a 17-year-old, he made 11 National League and 3 FA Cup appearances for the Spireites in the 2018-19 season.
Whilst at Chesterfield he had a loan spell at Blyth Spartans before signing for Workington.
He then joined Darlington in October 2020 before returning to Blyth Spartans.
He joined Braintree Town last Summer, where he scored 6 goals in 14 National League South appearances for the Iron. He grabbed another six to his tally whilst at Brackley.
Another recruit this summer is left-back Chi Ezennolim.
Chi has spent the last two seasons with National League South side Welling United, winning the Players’ Player and Supporters’ Player of the Year for 2022/23.
He left Park View Road last month in a bid to secure a move to the National League but George Elokobi’s persistence has paid off with the 21-year-old signing a one-year deal with the Stones.
George said: “With the likes of Sam Bone, Sam Corne and Reiss Greenidge, we’ve got National League standard players and I now include Chi in that. I know he could have made the step up this summer but I am delighted that he chosen Maidstone United and he is buzzing to be part of what we want to do next season.”
Chi came through the youth set-up at Millwall and joined The Wings in the summer of 2021.
The Stones have also signed the talented attacker Lamar Reynolds, further bolstering their squad for the upcoming season. Reynolds, known his electrifying pace, technical prowess, and exceptional ball control, will bring a wealth of experience to George’s team.
Manager George Elokobi expressed his excitement with Lamar putting pen to paper, stating, “We are thrilled to have Lamar Reynolds join our team. He is an exciting player who possesses great potential. Lamar’s flair, versatility, and hunger to succeed will undoubtedly enhance our attacking options.”
George Elokobi’s first signing of the summer was Razzaq Coleman De-Graft from Lewes FC.
The standout player at Lewes since joining them from Hampton & Richmond, Razzaq can be considered a technical and powerful player, who can play in a front three and on the wing.
George Elokobi adds “De-Graft’s agility, speed, and technical abilities make him a formidable force on the pitch, and we are confident that he will make a remarkable impact in our pursuit of success”.
Maidstone United begin their Vanarama National League South campaign at home to Slough Town on Saturday 5 August.
