Maidstone United bring in England ‘C’ player

Tristan Lewis and Simon Walton have strengthened the wide midfield position at Maidstone United with the signing of England C international Josh Taylor.

Taylor links up with the Stones on a loan deal from Sutton United until the end of the season.

The 23-year-old joined Sutton in the summer of 2017 after spending four years on a scholarship in the United States. He has made over 50 appearances for the U’s to date.

Back in October 2018 Josh made his debut for England C, playing in the 1-0 win against Estonia u23s at Leyton Orient’s Breyer Group Stadium.

Co-caretaker manager Simon Walton said:

“Josh is somebody I know well and is a player who adds quality in the final third to the squad.

“He is an England C international and last season was courted by various Championship and League One clubs. He’s the type of character who works hard and wants to do well and fits into the ethos we are trying to install into this group of players.”
