Dean Brennan into the hotseat as Billericay Manager
Hemel Hempstead Manager Dean Brennan has left his post at the club to take over as boss of Billericay Town
He will be joined by his assistant Manager Stuart Maynard.
Billericay Chairman Glenn Tamplin sacked Harry Wheeler last month, allegedly by text during the defeat by Chippenham.
Tamplin was in the dug-out for the 1-1 draw against Dartford in the National League South on Saturday.
Steve Watt thought he had landed the job only to find the job offer withdrawn two hours later. Apparently Tamplin, who has put the club up for sale, had been told Watt criticised him when in charge of Margate last season.
The new boss spent five years at Hemel and is understood to have penned a three-year deal at the AGP Arena and will be in the dugout for Saturday’s match against Burnham in the FA Cup. he will start by taking training on Tuesday night.
A post on Twitter from Hemel Hempstead initially confirmed the news.
Speaking on Monday, Tamplin said “Deal 99% done with new management / coaching team, hoping to announce within next 48 hours.”
After the post from Hemel Hempstead, Billericay also confirmed the news on Twitter.
