Rory returns to Ramsgate

Ramsgate Football Club have announced an agreement is in place for the return of striker Rory Smith.

Smith, 21, departed The Rams to join Australian based side Redlands United in November 2019.

However, he is now ready to return under Matt Longhurst ahead of the 2020/21 Isthmian League campaign.

Speaking on Rory’s return, Matt said:

“Rory is a player who I’ve seen play for Ramsgate for a number of years against some of my previous teams and he’s always been a difficult opponent. I really do believe he’s one of the most exciting talents in the league. I’m obviously very pleased that he’s another local lad as well.”

“Rory has been playing over in Australia for a few months and I hope it was a great experience for him.”

“He’s had a number of different offers as well of course but after a few weeks of discussions i’m pleased he’s chosen us.”

“To be able to bring somebody in of Rory’s calibre is great news for us.. He fits the bill perfectly.”
