Southend Midfielder joins Dover

Dover Athletic manager Andy Hessenthaler has added to his midfield ranks with the signing of Joe Bedford from Southend United.

The 21-year-old, who will wear the number 16 shirt, will go straight into the squad for Saturday’s FA Trophy tie against Havant & Waterlooville at Crabble.

A regular member of the Shrimpers’ under-23 side Bedford, a central midfielder has been with Southend since the age of eight and progressed through the Blues Academy to sign a professional deal.
