Wings capture Cook
Welling united have announced the signing of Anthony Cook.
The 29-year-old winger joins the club after a season at Dulwich Hamlet.
Cook is familiar to Goldberg and some of the current squad already after being part of Bromley’s title winning campaign in 2015. The wide-man has also had two spells at Ebbsfleet United, tasting promotion from the Conference South for a second time again in 2017.
Cook came to prominence at Chelmsford City between 2009-13 scoring 31 goals in 124 appearances.
On signing Anthony said;
WHEN DULWICH DECIDED TO SWITCH TO MORNING TRAINING IT MEANT THAT I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO COMMIT TO THEIR NEW SCHEDULE. I THEN SPOKE TO A FEW CLUBS BUT AS SOON AS I SPOKE TO MARK, HAVING PLAYED UNDER HIM AND WINNING THIS LEAGUE BEFORE, IT WAS A NO-BRAINER.
I ALREADY KNOW THE MAJORITY OF THE BOYS IN THE SQUAD AND A LOT OF US HAVE PLAYED AGAINST OR WITH EACH OTHER SO I THINK THAT WILL HELP US GEL NATURALLY. MOST PLAYERS IN THE TEAM HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN PROMOTION PUSHES SO ARE USED TO BEING SUCCESSFUL. I THINK THAT WILL DEFINITELY HELP US THIS SEASON.
MY AIM IS TO BRING GOALS TO THE TEAM THIS SEASON, EITHER SCORING OR MAKING THEM AND PLAYING FOR MANAGEMENT, COACHES AND PLAYERS THAT KNOW WHAT I’M GOOD AT MAKES COMING TO WELLING A NO BRAINER.
