London’s Oldest Football Club Needs You!
Cray Wanderers have set up an appeal page as they look to make through the financial crisis affecting Non League Football clubs right now.
Their Crowdfunder page reads;
Cray Wanderers Football Club are entering our 160th year in existence in 2020 and things couldn’t have been going better both on and off the pitch, before Covid-19 hit all levels of football.
We are aware of the effects of COVID-19 across the globe and we are hoping our fans, followers, local residents and local or national businesses can help us in any way they can to raise £20,000 to help the club to get through the current crisis and enable us to make it in to our 161st Year.
As London’s Oldest football club and on the verge of building our very own new stadium back in our local area and right on one of the busiest roads in to London, we have fantastic marketability and are looking for businesses that may be looking to support us on our journey into our new stadium.
We are looking to raise £20,000 to plug the financial gap left with the season being cancelled so abruptly. This has drastically affected us and our ability to keep building both on and off the pitch at the pace we were.
We are aware, of course, that the current situation stretches beyond football, and into the wider community. All around us during this tough time in our lives the beloved members of our NHS continue to work above and beyond to protect our families and save lives, and the club would like to offer them a gesture of our gratitude.
For every £100 raised in our crowdfunding campaign, we will donate one match ticket for the 2020/21 season to any NHS staff that wish to have one. We are also going to hold a charity day at one of our home matches next season dedicated to the NHS, to raise money for the local NHS and it will be free entry for all NHS staff on the day.
As well as your donations enabling the NHS staff to free tickets, there are also various other rewards available to the people and businesses assisting the club financially to get us through this unprecedented time in the clubs long history, as listed on this page.
