Dartford back Dowse despite poor Season start

Dartford FC have today released Club Statement showing their backing for current First Team Manager Alan Dowson and his Management Team.

The Darts have had a slow start to the season, gaining just 9 points from their 9 league games played and just this Saturday made their exit from the FA Cup at the hands of local rivals Welling United.

The Club Statement Reads:

The Board held one of its regular meetings last night and, as you might expect, we took the opportunity to discuss the recent run of results.

No one can disagree that it’s been a disappointing period and games have not gone our way. By and large, though, results have been close and have hinged on small margins.

We have had more than our fair share of setbacks so far this season and in a club such as ours the issues we face might not always be obvious. We try to build a resilient squad but it’s not always helpful to give notice of players’ injuries or the support we give behind the scenes. There’s no doubt, though, that Dowse’s options have been limited from time to time and the Board is aware of those pressures.

The Board, management and club is made up of people who love the club and who, for the most part, have been at the heart of the Darts family for many years. We have all been around during the highs and the lows. We have seen great runs of success and known periods when results simply wouldn’t go our way. The key has always been to work together, unite and press ahead in the tradition of our historic club.

Tonight, we ALL came together – Board Members, Dowse and senior personnel – to discuss the work we ALL have to do as the season progresses.

Our strengths over the years have been commitment to long-term stability, our trust in each other and recognising the importance of our loyal supporters. They will continue to be at the heart of our activities.

Sticking together – The Board, Dowse, all of us and all of you – matters most when we are under pressure.
