Dover Athletic manager Andy Hessenthaler will come up against one of his former clubs when Premier League side Watford sends a team to play a pre-season friendly at Crabble on August 6th.
Hessenthaler made 217 appearances in five seasons with the Hertfordshire side and also captained the side.
He said: “I have a lot of great memories from my time with Watford and I was delighted to see them get promoted.
“I think it’s great for us as a club that they are going to send a team down to play us and I am really looking forward to it.”
The Hornets secured automatic promotion back to the top flight for the 2021/22 season after a one-year absence after finishing second behind champions Norwich City in April.
Information about ticketing for this game and all other pre-season home friendlies will be confirmed in due course.
