Mekki back at Fleet
Adam Mekki is back at the Kuflink Stadium, this time on a permanent basis, as the Fleet unveiled the latest new signing.
The wide midfielder has already shown Fleet fans just what he can do during a loan spell from Bromley last season when he played eight times for the club through January and February.
That period in a Fleet shirt yielded three wins and two draws and Mekki’s fine form in his loan spell with us earned him an early recall by Bromley in March, where he featured to the end of the season.
Ebbsfleet supporters will now get the opportunity to enjoy Adam’s talents for the coming 2020/21 campaign as his signature makes him the ninth announced member of Dennis Kutrieb’s squad.
The 28-year-old is a former Reading academy youth who broke through at Aldershot Town, playing 95 times for the Shots in League Two and the Conference before he moved north to Tranmere Rovers via short spells with Barnet and Dover Athletic.
Two years on the Wirral were followed by three seasons at Hayes Lane with Bromley where the popular midfielder totalled almost 90 appearances and he battled back from a broken fibula injury to feature 29 times for both the Ravens and the Fleet in 2019/20.
Speaking to the club website, Mekki said: “The prospect of a move back was definitely there from very early on and I knew it was a really good option for me. A lot of the other lads I either know or know of and they’re really impressive signings so far. Now I can’t wait to get going and see what we’ve got as a squad.”
