SE Dons Quartet leave Hythe Town
Hythe Town have parted ways with 4 of their players due to their reluctance to give up playing Sunday League Football
George Kamurasi, Salvyn Kisitu, Ryan Palmer and Zak Ansah have all left the Bostik South East Division Club as they refuse to stop playing for their beloved SE Dons.
“We’ve taken the stance this year that we don’t want any Sunday football,” said Hythe manager Sam Denly. “I explained that to them and the decision was made a while back.
SE Dons are You Tube sensations with over 100,000 subscribers enjoying their videos. They film their games and show behind the scenes footage as they take part in the Orpington & Bromley Sunday Football League. The level of that competition is very high with most of their opposition featuring players from other Saturday Non-League clubs. The Dons are the stars though and 2 recent Cup Finals saw over 2,000 paying fans come out each time to see them lift silverware.
The former Hythe quartet will now look for a club at a similar level to ply their trade on a Saturday and will be joined on the search by fellow SE Dons star Jack Sammoutis, free after leaving Greenwich Borough.
Whether they end up together or all go to different clubs we shall see but for me a forward thinking team could be wise to bring them all in to benefit, not just from their quality, but also the attention it could lead to from potential new fans.
