Signing Number Seven for Fleet

Ebbsfleet United have announced the latest addition to Dennis Kutrieb’s growing squad as former Eastbourne Borough player of the year Tobi Adebayo-Rowling has put pen to paper.

The versatile 23-year-old defender is equally at home as a right full-back or further upfield operating at wing-back.

A former Brighton and Peterborough United youth team prospect, he signed professional terms with Posh in 2015 and went on to make his debut in League One against Rochdale, playing a further four times at the beginning of the 2015/16 season.

Following a managerial change at Peterborough, Adebayo-Rowling moved across the sea to the League of Ireland, playing more than 60 times for Sligo Rovers and then Cork City from 2016 to 2018. In his first season at Sligo, he earned the club’s young player of the year award as Rovers just missed out on Europa League qualification.

The speedy defender returned to England in the summer of 2018, starting the season with Bromley in the National League before a loan spell with Eastbourne resulted in a permanent move. Despite his move to the South Coast coming almost two months into the new season, Adebayo-Rowling still walked off with the club’s player of the season award.

The consistent and popular performer played 28 games for the Sports in last season’s abortive campaign.

“As soon as I got the call from Ebbsfleet it was a no-brainer,” said Adebayo-Rowling. “I did have other options. But when I spoke to everyone, this was the one. I’m hungry to get back on the ball and back on the field.”

The new man is the seventh to commit to Fleet for the 2020/21 Season.
Already confirmed are Josh Payne, Sefa Kahraman, Michael West, Tom Hadler, Alfie Egan, and Jordan Holmes.
