Welling United add Wings
Welling United have confirmed several new signings ahead of the 2023/24 season.
Mitchell Dickenson is an England C international and joins the Wings as Club Captain following his departure from Eastbourne Borough.
The 26 year old made 86 league appearances for Eastbourne after arriving at Priory Lane in 2020 and he re-unites with his former boss Danny Bloor at Park View Road.
James Vaughan also joins the Wings following his departure from Eastbourne Borough.
Bexhilll-born Vaughan has spent much of his career in the USA having earned a University scholarship. Returning to the UK in 2020, he became an integral part of Bloor’s Eastbourne side, wracking up 30 league appearances at Priory Lane last season.
After representing University side Northwood Timberwolves, Vaughan embarked on spells with AFC Ann Arbor, Michigan Bucks and Detroit City in the USL Championship before returning to the UK and he now becomes the Wings latest addition as Bloor builds his squad for the new season.
Dominic Odusanya arrives at Park View Road following a three-year stay at Maidstone United, where he was a key part of their National League South title-winning side of the 2021/22 season.
Also confirmed is the return of defender to Taofiq Olomowewe to Park View Road.
The centre-back originally signed for the Wings last summer and made nine league appearances during a strong start to the campaign before circumstances led to his departure, signing with Ramsgate for the remainder of the season.
Welling United have confirmed the arrival of right-back Crossley Lema.
The 24-year old has caught the eye in the Isthmian League Premier Division in recent seasons with Margate and Carshalton Athletic, winning the Robins’ Player of the Year award for his sparking displays last term.
Danny Bloor has announced his backroom staff ahead of the 2023/24 season.
Bloor was named Wings boss last month and he was quick to add goalkeeper Lee Worgan to his staff as Player-Goalkeeping Coach.
And he is now joined by Assistant Manager and Coach, Ben Austin, formerly of Eastbourne Borough, alongside First-Team Coaches Nick Arnold and Teddy Bloor, Sports Scientist Harry Towner, Sports Scientist Assistant Michael Schweiger and Performance Data Analyst Dan Ford.
Meanwhile, long-serving Keith Mills continues in his role as Kit Manager.
