Knight arrives at Maidstone
Maidstone United’s summer rebuild has begun with the signing of centre back Lewis Knight.
Lewis joins the Stones on a one year deal after leaving St Albans City.
Standing at 6’4″, Knight counts East Thurrock United, Concord Rangers and Welling United among his previous clubs.
Speaking after signing on the dotted line on Friday afternoon, the 26-year-old said:
I’m delighted to get the move over the line and to get it done nice and early ahead of next season.
I had a call from John Still who said he had come to watch me play and felt I would be a good fit for the club. I came and met him and Hakan and I liked what they had to say, so I jumped at the opportunity to join the club.
I am an old school centre half but I like to try and play as well. It’s a dream come true to play full time football, and I feel I can only get better and improve myself as a player.
I’ll keep myself ticking over during the summer and am looking forward to coming back in July and showing everyone what I can offer.
Maidstone will be taking their place in the National League South for next season.
